Stories

I'm sick of the same old sad stories. Stories that keep us small safe and stuck. There are enough sad stories in this world. Just turn on the news.

The media industry continues to demoralize us by bombarding us with bad news.

I'm ready to break free of the shackles of my own limiting beliefs and scared ego patterns, are you?
If you want to write. write. If you want to teach, teach. If you want to work, work.

We see other people living inside their stories. Why is it so difficult to recognize our own? Stories like these "It won't work out." "I have to be careful." "Look what happened to so and so." "You don't want to look like a fool, do you?" "People won't like it." "You don't have the experience." "It's too risky." "What if it doesn't work out." "What if people don't like you?" "What if ... Scenarios based on fear. Stories of the ego about why we can't have what we want.

If you're holding out for universal popularity, I'm afraid you'll be in this cabin for a very long time. J.K. Rowling

When your own inner voice stops supporting you that's when it's time to get to work.
If you're like me right now, I'm uncomfortable and this is a very good sign. A sign that I'm becoming more conscious of a thought pattern/behaviour that no longer serves me.

Telling ourselves sad stories is an insidious habit that erodes our ability to see our strengths, our talents and our born inherent goodness.

It started a few weeks ago when I began listening to other people's stories and watching how they lived in them. Suddenly I realized that I too have stories that I'm telling myself.

RECOGNIZE In order to break out of that chain of negativity we have begin to recognize our stories. Repairing on our own inner critic requires a quiet mind. Develop a mental practice of quiet space and reflection. Journalling. A chair in a quiet room. Turn off the TV. Shut the door to your office. Take a walk. Find something that works.

Clarity and patience needs to be cultivated so we can begin to recognize how we've chosen to remain in our stories and gently nudge our way out of them.

VISION Do the opposite. make up a GREAT story. Creating a vision that is lofty. A vision that stirs and excites and propels you to high places. When you hold a fabulous vision of yourself, doing, having and being what you want, your energy will be in line with this vision and you will begin to attract people and circumstances to support it.

RESTORE Restore your sense of self. Take action and do things every day that leave you feeling good about yourself. They don't have to be massive leaps and bounds. Simple action energy steps that make you feel good and affirm you're heading in a wonderful new direction.

The longer we live in our stories, the greater their capacity to harm us. Break free. I guarantee to anyone that recognizing our own stories, creating a lofty vision of ourselves and doing things everyday that are life affirming and joyful you will have an incredible life.

Warm happy regards,

Carrie
